How actions are calculated for agents
Last updated: October 29, 2026
Sequel uses actions to measure the AI work done in your workspace. Each time Sequel's AI completes a piece of work, it uses actions from your plan.
What is an action?
An action is a single unit of completed AI work. Examples include an agent run, an AI clip, a written content piece, a personalized email, or a lead or account summary.
Each piece of work counts as one action, no matter how long or complex it is. A short LinkedIn post and a long blog post each use one action.
How agent runs add up
Each time an agent runs, it uses 1 action. Anything the agent produces during that run counts separately.
For example, a post-event agent run that writes 2 content pieces and drafts follow-up emails for 40 attendees uses 43 actions in total:
1 action for the agent run
2 actions for the content pieces
40 actions for the personalized emails
Good to know
Only completed work uses actions.
Re-running work counts again. For example, re-enriching a lead that already has a summary uses another action.
Personalized emails count when they are drafted, not when they are sent.
